Class A CDL
1st choice CDL academy in Houston offers the full list of CDL training courses, utilizing both Class A CDL. Attending truck driver training at 1st choice CDL academy provides an ideal learning experience for new CDL drivers to develop new driving skills in a commercial vehicle.
Class B CDL
1st choice cdl academy in Houston offers the full list of CDL training courses, utilizing both Class B CDL. Attending truck driver training at 1st choice CDL academy provides an ideal learning experience for new CDL drivers to develop new driving skills in a commercial vehicle.
CDL Endorsements
The day one of your academy visits we will assign you a username and password to our online theory so you can complete all of our 31-chapter video and then complete your ELDT portion. A certificate of completion will be given to you
Beware of FREE Truck Driving Schools / Academy
1st Choice CDL Academy does not offer so-called “free” or “company-sponsored” CDL training. Some schools and carriers advertise this training at no cost to the student. However, those programs require you to sign a contract allowing them to deduct fees from your paycheck and agree to work for them for approximately 1 or 2 years.
1st Choice CDL Academy does not participate in this type of training because it is set up to benefit the carrier, not the student.

TRAINING
All of 1st Choice CDL Academy’s nationwide locations follow strict training and safety guidelines. You will need to complete 80 training hours in order to qualify for your Class A CDL license. Here is a look at the training that you will receive during that time at 1st Choice CDL Academy.

CDL PROCEDURE
DOT Physical Exam
To be eligible for a CDL you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Texas driver’s license and pass a D.O.T Physical Exam. We will schedule your dot physical exam appointment at our academy.
ELDT Online
The day one of your academy visits we will assign you a username and password to our online theory so you can complete all of our 35 chapter video and then complete your ELDT portion. A certificate of completion will be given to you
CLP
After completing your ELDT portion from 1st Choice CDL Academy, you will schedule an appointment for DPS to take the 4 required multiple-choice tests of Texas Special Requirements, General Vehicles (class A only), and Air knowledge, Combination breaks. You must obtain 80+ on each test to receive the CLP
BTW
1st Choice CDL Academy will train you for 2 straight weeks in order for you to pass your Road Test. We will work with you on Pre-Trip Inspection , straight backing , Offset Backing, Parallel Parking,and public road drive.
